Zilverling colloquium: Opinion dynamics in social networks: modelling, analysis, and control

When: June 10, 2014, 15:45-16:30

Where: Ravelijn 2501

Who: Paolo Frasca

Understanding how opinions evolve within groups of interacting individuals is a fascinating scientific problem. This challenge has attracted scholars from different disciplines, not only from behavioural sciences and sociology but also from physics, mathematics, and systems theory. In this talk, we will survey a few mathematical models of opinion dynamics, focusing on recent contributions coming from the systems and control community. On our way, we will comment on some open research opportunities.
