Following the success of last year's workshop, the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO) and Technology Foundation STW organize the second edition the workshop ICT with Industry , which will take place from 13 to 17 October 2014 at the Lorentz Center in Leiden.

Aim

The main aim of the workshop is to increase the possibilities of public private partnerships within the framework of the implementation of the national research agenda ICT Roadmap including the research innovation agenda of CLICK/NL GAMES. The workshop will provide a platform for networking between computer scientists and partners from industry and public organisations. During five days  some  fifty researchers from information technology and computer science at a wide range of universities in the Netherlands will work together extensively on challenging problems proposed by the partners.  The workshop is expected to lead to a number of new papers and/or research initiatives and to establish new research collaborations between computer science and industry.

Structure

The partners from industry and public organisations present their  urgent problems and objectives on the first day. The following days the participating researchers start brainstorming, programming and solving the problems in different groups closely guided by a representative of the participating partner and supported by senior researchers. On the last day, all groups present their findings and solutions with concrete next steps.

Scientific Topics

The proposed problems will cover scientific topics which will be assessed on their scientific merit by a scientific committee. The problems of this year's edition cover different topics ranging from Big Data to how to tackle open data and privacy issues.
