allow adaptsim tests to be input enabled

Description

in each test step where we want to do input (provide a stimulus), also be prepared to deal with output (an observation): that is particularly useful when the simulated implementation is a log (or other trace).

Also, it may just be more realistic if a simulated implementation that has (according to the implementation model) the ability to choose itself whether it provides output or waits for input, indeed does take the initiative to produce output, instead of always letting its environment (the tester) make this choice for it.

implemented in 7e06cf33fdb6e2bb60e36b207f6e838aeff678a9
(now use random number generator to solve non-determinism in model-as-sut when we (as tester) try to apply a stimulus)
