Syslog Configuration

Logging: via Syslog

The shell scrips and authentication module use syslog(1) for logging.
The items are logged as program grabats, to allow syslog-ng(8)
to filter them to their own log file, via rules like:

filter f_grabats { program(grabats); };
destination grabats  { file("/var/log/grabats" owner(grabats) group(grabats)); };
log { source(src); filter(f_grabats); destination(grabats); };

Remark that on Ubuntu 8.10 (intrepid), the element src is undefined in the default configuration file (/etc/syslog-ng/syslog-ng.conf). Therefore, you should use the s_all element instead:

log { source(s_all); ........ };

The shell scripts use logger(1); the vmauth.c module uses syslog(3) function calls.
To change this, edit the dolog function at the top of the shell scripts,
and remove the openlog/syslog/closelog calls from vmauth.c .
